I hope they call me on a mission!

So many missionaries!!! It's fantastic! This all happened in the last week...

Nick Clark was called to serve in the Oregon, Eugene mission.
Michael "Jo Jo" Johansson returned home from the Minnesota, Minneapolis mission.
Justin Moore is leaving for the Nicaragua, Minagua mission and gave a wonderful talk today.
Nathan Dukatz is leaving for the Pennsylvania, Philidelphia mission and also gave a wonderful talk today.

I sure do love missionaries :)

It's Logical.

Recent events have led me to think long and hard about how awesome my life is. And how I take it for granted every day. I am so grateful for the incredible gospel of Jesus Christ, and my membership in His church. I'm so grateful that I have a family who loves me, a home, and food on the table. I'm grateful that Dad works so hard so that our family can have nice things and live nice lives. I have the most incredible friends. Friends that help me make good choices. Cyndi, Emelia, and Trace have never left my side, and I know they'll always be there when I need them. I miss Caleb like crazy, but know he is where he needs to be and is an incredible missionary. Trace has made changes in his life that affected not only him but me, his family, and all his other friends. He truly has the light of Christ, and I can't wait for him to share that with everyone in Manchester. A missionary leaves his family for two years, so that everyone he teaches can be with their family forever. I thought that was a cool quote. Sometimes people make stupid choices, really stupid choices, but that's why we're here. To make mistakes, to be tested and tried. Jesus Christ broke the bands of death so that we can live again. Some people don't get it, but I do. And I want everyone else to get it too. It's logical. He loves us. I know it.

My lesson for today and the next few years.

Patience Is a Virtue

“Patience—the ability to put our desires on hold for a time—is a precious and rare virtue. We want what we want, and we want it now. Therefore, the very idea of patience may seem unpleasant and, at times, bitter. “Nevertheless, without patience, we cannot please God; we cannot become perfect. Indeed, patience is a purifying process that refines understanding, deepens happiness, focuses action, and offers hope for peace.”

Dieter F. Uchtdorf, “Continue in Patience,” Ensign, May 2010, 56

He's Home!! (Take One)

Take two will be in dos years. haha! But this one was pretty fun too! So I picked him up Saturday from the airport and we went straight to Sugarhouse Park to meet his family for fireworks! It was so crazy. I'm sure there were more people there than Stadium of Fire. But it was so much fun!
I got to meet Trace's sweet grandparents that just recently returned from mission to Cambodia, his grandpa sure did make me miss mine!!! But here's all the girls for the evening. Me, his Grandma Bonnie, Mom Kristi, Sister Whitney, and Aunt Emily.
Yes, I know, He looks exactly like his mother. haha.
Sunday I went to church with him because I just couldn't get enough of him, JUST KIDDING. I actually had to work at 10:30 and his was the only ward I knew of that started at 9:00 and I didn't even get to go to sacrament meeting last week. So, yes that was lovely. After I got off work he came over for some rad family fireworks. Dad has truly outdone himself this year. Highlights were the Jade Flower, Flowers and Bees, and many other fireworks with masculine names...So I like to dress like a boy! What of it?!

Man I am diggin this 3-day weekend thing! Monday we went boating with my family and it was so fun. I'm in SO MUCH PAIN. Because just as we finished our fun yet safe tube ride, he told Dad he was upset that we were still in the tube... that was stupid. I got launched pretty far and hit the water back first. Anyone up for givin me a neck rub?? Oh, and Trace water skiied. Thanks Daddy-O.
This is our drip castle. We're awesome. We know.

Tracer went through the Draper Temple tonight, he's working so hard to prepare for his mission. Supportive not Distracting, that's my goal. But it sure is good to have him home. For a minute :)
